Jesus The Master Teacher
Compelled to Grow
“Jesus The Master Teacher”
For the Christ-follower, our goal in our spiritual growth is to be just like Jesus. If we are compelled to grow and we want to be like Jesus; then, it would only make sense that we would do the things that Jesus did.
13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. …17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. John 13:13-15, 17
· What does it mean for Jesus to be both Lord & Teacher?
Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Luke 5:16
· Do you spend quiet time alone with God? How might you implement this habit in your life?
Jesus always sought God’s will above His own (see Luke 22:42) and He met the needs of others above His own (see Mark 10:45).
· What does it look like to place God and others over self in your day to day life? How might you improve in this Christ-like attribute at home, work, and church?
Read Philippians 2:5-11 together. Spend time in prayer asking God to help you make your attitude the same as that of Christ Jesus.
