Why Faith is Important!
Lesson 1 “Why Faith is Important”
Sermon Take Home Discussion Questions
“The three most important things to have are faith, hope and love.”1 Cor. 13:13 (NIRV)
1) The Bible says that we should make pleasing God our goal (2 Corinthians 5:9) and that without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). In what ways have you make it your goal to please God and how has your faith played a role in it?
2) Read James chapter 2:14-26. A true God-pleasing faith is more than words we say, things we believe and feeling we have; but faith is truly demonstrated in what we do. Two examples are given in James 2 of two very different people: Abraham (vs.20-24) & Rahab (vs.25). What was similar about their faith?
3) What do you need to “DO” in your life to demonstrate your faith in God?
Faith is one of the most important things to have. Our faith can falter at times, but because it is the gift of God, given to His children, He provides times of trial and testing in order to prove that our faith is real and to sharpen and strengthen it. Spend time in prayer asking God to strength your faith so that you may please Him.
